In keeping with state recommendations, starting today, September 2, 2021, we highly encourage everyone to demonstrate civil obedience by wearing a mask while attending worship or other activities at Hope Lutheran Church. Those who choose to not wear a mask for conscience’s sake will still be welcome to participate in worship and other activities. However, as Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church, I will direct everyone to the Lord’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is our “royal law” (James 2:8) that supersedes everything else (Galatians 5:14). When we gather for worship, Bible study or other activities, we must all do everything we can to love, serve, protect and build up one another and not let anything cause divisions or take away from the peace we have in Christ (Romans 14:19). We should always put the needs of others ahead of our own (Ephesians 4:1-3). This is nothing more or less that what I have always encouraged us to do.
Those who are not yet comfortable returning to worship for any reason may call me, and I will be happy to arrange a time for individual or family worship with Holy Communion. With the cooler weather approaching, we can make use of an outdoor setting such as the gazebo if you wish.
Our website will have a link to the corresponding order of worship that families or individuals can view at their leisure under Resources tab, Worship at Home. Worship can also be viewed separately on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
Finally, remember that God is still on the throne, Christ is King and you have the hope of the crown of life. So let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts! (Colossians 3:15)
